Update 1: 1st August 2012
Appliction forms are available from the Energy Saving Trust now. However an installer has still not been appointed. Applications are welcome from buyers fo EVs even if you have only got to the order stage and not recieved your car yet.
We emphasise that details of this scheme are still being worked out however;
The Energy Saving Trust in Scotland is managing a program on behalf of Transport Scotland offering Free charging equipment to all EV drivers in Scotland as follows;
- Domestic charging points – 100% funding for the cost of a 16A homecharger unit and installation will be available for any EV owner in Scotland.
- Workplace charging points – 100% funding for the cost of a charging post and installation. Organisations will be expected to make the post publicly accessible and organisations will be selected on their suitability (e.g. location, access etc.). There is limited funding for this stream so all applicants will need to go through a selection process (please also note that dealerships are unfortunately not eligible for this funding).
While you may contact the Energy Savings Trust Directly we know that there will be a lot of questions about this scheme and until full details are known it would be useful if these could be coordinated through the Electric Vehicle Association Scotland firstname.lastname@example.org .
We are arranging a meeting with the Energy Savings Trust in the near future and will post any updates.
